You’ll notice the cigar room is heavily insulated and has a dry-walled ceiling to ensure no smoke can escape the room.
The heart and soul of the room is the ducting and venting. When someone enters the room they flip the switch for the duct dampers, which closes the house HVAC vent and opens up the fresh air vent. If the temperature of the air is below 70 degrees the heating coils turn on to temper the air. Then the 1200 CFM exhaust fan is turned on via a variable speed switch, which starts pulling and exhausting the fresh air.
And finally we’re finished! The end result is a completely sealed off room that has it’s own ventilation system constantly bringing in new air. It’s impossible to smell any smoke when outside of the room. After smoking and running the exhaust fans and O2 purifier for a short while, the room itself smells like any other room in the house.
